TOKYO, June 12, 2025 - FUJIFILM Corporation announces the global launch of the “FUJIFILM X-E5”(X-E5) from August 2025.

“FUJIFILM X-E5” Silver

“FUJIFILM X-E5” Black
The X-E5 is a mirrorless digital camera featuring a lightweight, compact body weighing 445g*1, a back-illuminated 40.2 MP “X-Trans™ CMOS 5 HR”*2 sensor, and a high-speed image processing engine, the “X-Processor 5”. As the first model in the “X-E series,” which is characterized by its rangefinder-style design allowing one-handed dial operation while looking through the viewfinder and its compact, lightweight body, it is equipped with a powerful five-axis IBIS mechanism offering up to 7.0 stops in the center and 6.0 stops at the edges*3.Users can enjoy effortless shooting with precision and versatility across a wide range of scenes. Additionally, for the first time in the “X Series,” the camera features a camera top plate made entirely from precision-machined aluminum. The flat top surface accentuates the edges, and the dial area is carved out to create a smooth metal texture and a high sense of rigidity and comfort when holding the camera. The electronic viewfinder (EVF) now features a new “Classic Display” mode*4, which displays only essential information in a simple, retro style reminiscent of film cameras. Furthermore, the layout of the dials has been designed so that all operations can be performed with the right hand alone when holding the camera and looking through the viewfinder, enabling highly immersive shooting. The X-E5 is a camera that combines the classic style unique to the X series with an innovative appearance that pursues the dignity of a camera through aluminum machining, as well as functions and operability that bring out the joy of shooting. It is a camera that provides the joy of owning a camera and the fun of photography to a wide range of users, from photography enthusiasts to those who are using a digital camera for the first time.

High-quality appearance

Design of the top plate
- For the first time in the X series, a camera top case has been precision machined from aluminum. The machining process has created a flat top surface with sharp edges, combined with curved surfaces around the dials, resulting in an innovative design. This design enhances the metallic feel of the camera and improves the operability of the dials.

Film Simulation Dial

Film Simulation Dial Setting
- A newly designed Film Simulation dial placed at the left side of the top panel features a convenient window for easy visibility. The indicator plate, which displays the selected Film Simulation, is crafted with an aluminum-machined finish. Additionally, any of the 20 Film Simulations and image quality settings can be registered to three positions, FS1 to FS3*5. Personal “FS recipes” can be saved and accessed intuitively by switching the dial.
- Not only the top plate, which has been machined, but also the viewfinder and diopter adjustment dial have been designed to minimize unevenness. In addition to narrowing the gap between the dial and the main body, the overall vertical and horizontal balance has been optimized to create a design that retains the look and feel of a camera while exuding a refined presence.
- Included is a rope-type shoulder strap that goes well with the rangefinder style. It accentuates the high-quality camera design.
- *5 Three positions are available on the Film Simulation dial, allowing up to 20 “Film Simulation “modes and image quality settings to be individually registered for FS1, FS2, and FS3.

New “Classic Display” mode

Surround View Mode
- A new retro and simple view mode called “Classic” has been added to the EVF display modes. Based on a simple design reminiscent of classic film cameras, the information displayed on the screen has been carefully selected. Additionally, the dials are arranged for operation with the right hand alone, enabling seamless adjustments while looking through the viewfinder and maintaining focus on the scene visible in the viewfinder.
- A newly equipped surround view function displays areas outside the shooting range as either semi-transparent or outlined, depending on the aspect ratio. This feature delivers a shooting experience akin to using an OVF, even when using an EVF.
- A new control lever is mounted on the front of the camera. The lever can be assigned functions such as changing the view mode, switching the aspect ratio, and changing the digital teleconverter magnification. This enables intuitive switching of functions while holding the camera, achieving high operability.
- In addition to improving the detection accuracy of the gyro sensor, a newly adopted algorithm enhances tracking performance for blur, achieving 5-axis image stabilization with a maximum of 7.0 stops in the center and 6.0 stops at the periphery. Equipped with powerful image stabilization in a compact body, comfortable shooting is possible across a wide range of scenes.
- The digital teleconverter function enables two-stage zooming at 1.4x and 2.0x. With the high-resolution sensor “X-Trans™ CMOS 5 HR,” resolution is maintained even during zooming, allowing for versatile performance across a wide range of scenes.
- Features a 3.0-inch, 1.04-million-dot tilt-type rear LCD monitor. The design supports shooting from high angles to low angles in various styles, with the monitor capable of rotating 180° upward to enable selfies while checking the screen.
- 6.2K/30P 4:2:2 10-bit video recording is possible. Equipped with tracking AF function during video recording, it enables high-quality video recording.
- The fifth generation of the X Series features a back-illuminated approximately 40.2 MP “X-Trans™ CMOS 5 HR” sensor. The latest image processing algorithm achieves high resolution while maintaining a high S/N ratio.
- A new pixel structure has been adopted to capture more light efficiently. ISO 125, which was an extended sensitivity in previous models*6, can now be used as a standard sensitivity. In addition, the electronic shutter speed can be set to a maximum of 1/180000 seconds, enabling shooting with the aperture wide open in a wide range of scenes.
- Adopts subject detection AF developed using deep learning technology. By selecting from animals, birds, cars, motorcycles, bicycles, airplanes, and trains, the AI detects each subject. Additionally, insects and drones can also be detected by individually setting the subject*7.
- The latest AF prediction algorithm provides high tracking performance for moving subjects and high-precision AF even in low-contrast environments.
- *6 FUJIFILM X-E4
- *7 By selecting “bird” for insects and “airplane” for drones, it becomes possible to detect each subject using AI.
